Important: This Listing Policy governs all business profiles, professional profiles, course and event listings, advertisements, featured placements, photographs, videos, links, reviews, responses, and other content submitted to or displayed on FirearmsDirectory.com.
By creating, claiming, purchasing, submitting, editing, or maintaining a Listing, you agree to this Policy, the Firearms Directory Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, pricing and advertising terms presented at checkout, and all applicable federal, state, and local laws. If you act for a business or organization, you represent that you are authorized to do so.
1. Purpose and Scope
Firearms Directory is an independent directory and advertising platform that helps users discover firearms-industry businesses, instructors, training providers, shooting ranges, retailers, service providers, events, and related resources.
Firearms Directory:
- Is not a firearm dealer, seller, broker, transfer agent, auction house, licensing authority, certifying organization, law firm, or law-enforcement agency.
- Does not sell, transfer, ship, inspect, or take possession of firearms, ammunition, regulated items, or products offered by listed businesses.
- Is not a party to transactions, contracts, training arrangements, transfers, appointments, or disputes between users and listed businesses.
- Does not guarantee the legality, safety, quality, availability, pricing, licensing, insurance, credentials, performance, or suitability of any listed business, instructor, course, event, product, or service.
- Does not provide legal advice. Users and listing owners must determine the requirements that apply to them.
Publication of a Listing does not constitute endorsement, approval, certification, sponsorship, or a guarantee by Firearms Directory.
2. Creating or Claiming a Listing
A Listing may be created or claimed by the business owner, an authorized employee or representative, an authorized marketing provider acting for the business, or Firearms Directory using lawfully obtained public or licensed business information.
No person may claim, control, or materially edit a business Listing without authorization. Firearms Directory may request proof of identity, affiliation, ownership, domain control, licensing, certification, address, telephone number, or authority at any time.
If a Listing was created from public or third-party information, the business may request to claim or correct it. An unclaimed Listing does not mean the business submitted, approved, or paid for it.
3. Accurate and Current Information
Listing owners must provide truthful, complete, current, and non-misleading information, including when applicable:
- Business name, address, service area, telephone number, email, website, hours, and booking links;
- Accurate categories, services, products, course descriptions, prerequisites, schedules, duration, availability, prices, fees, and refund terms;
- Current instructor credentials, business licenses, permits, insurance, and agency approvals;
- Range rules, age limits, equipment requirements, and safety prerequisites; and
- Event dates, locations, organizer information, admission terms, material limitations, and exclusions.
Information must be updated promptly when it becomes inaccurate, expired, suspended, revoked, unavailable, or misleading. Expired credentials, discontinued services, unavailable courses, past events, and ended offers may not be presented as current.
4. Categories, Keywords, and Locations
Listings must use the most accurate categories and locations. Listing owners may not:
- Select unrelated categories merely to obtain additional exposure;
- Create duplicate Listings for the same business and location;
- Create separate business profiles for individual services that belong within one profile;
- Use a mailbox, virtual office, borrowed address, or false service area to create a misleading local presence;
- Claim a location where the business does not lawfully operate or serve customers; or
- Use irrelevant city, agency, credential, competitor, or service names to manipulate search results.
Separate Listings may be permitted for genuinely distinct staffed locations or independently operating divisions, subject to review.
5. Credentials, Licenses, Approvals, and Verification Badges
Claims of being licensed, certified, insured, bonded, approved, authorized, endorsed, veteran-owned, woman-owned, law-enforcement affiliated, or otherwise specially qualified must be accurate, current, and supported by documentation upon request.
Listing owners may not use expired, suspended, revoked, altered, borrowed, or fraudulent credentials; misstate experience, student counts, pass rates, ratings, or review totals; imply that training guarantees a government permit; or use seals, badges, agency logos, certification marks, and trademarks without authorization.
Meaning of a Firearms Directory verification badge
A verification badge means only that Firearms Directory completed the verification step identified on the Listing at the time of review. Verification may include confirming control of an email address, website, telephone number, professional identity, business registration, license, certification, or other submitted information.
A badge is not a government license, endorsement, certification, warranty, or guarantee. It does not verify every statement in a Listing, replace independent verification by users, or promise continuing eligibility. A badge may be removed if information changes, expires, cannot be reconfirmed, or appears inaccurate.
6. Firearms-Industry Compliance
Listing owners are solely responsible for complying with all federal, state, and local laws, regulations, licensing rules, permit requirements, transfer requirements, advertising restrictions, age restrictions, and recordkeeping obligations applicable to their businesses, products, services, courses, events, and customers.
The appearance of a business, course, service, event, or product on Firearms Directory does not establish that it is legal or available in every jurisdiction.
Listings may not offer, promote, arrange, or facilitate:
- Any unlawful sale, transfer, manufacture, possession, shipment, import, export, modification, or use of firearms, ammunition, magazines, suppressors, machine guns, destructive devices, regulated components, or other controlled items;
- Avoidance of required background checks, waiting periods, dealer transfers, age limits, licenses, serialization, recordkeeping, or other legal safeguards;
- Straw purchases, false statements, prohibited-person access, or dealings with anyone known or reasonably suspected to be legally prohibited;
- Stolen property, counterfeit goods, unlawfully altered serial numbers, or property the listing owner lacks authority to offer; or
- Instructions or services primarily intended to evade applicable law.
Firearms Directory is a business directory—not a person-to-person firearm-sales platform. Private firearm-sale advertisements, classifieds, auctions, and direct weapon-sale posts are prohibited unless Firearms Directory introduces a separate service with express written rules authorizing them.
7. Prohibited and Restricted Content
Content must be professional, relevant, and suitable for a public business directory. Prohibited content includes:
- False, deceptive, fraudulent, materially incomplete, or misleading statements;
- Illegal activity or content creating an unreasonable safety risk;
- Threats, harassment, intimidation, encouragement of violence, hate, discrimination, obscenity, or excessively graphic material;
- Private or sensitive personal information posted without permission;
- Malware, phishing, malicious code, or deceptive data-collection links;
- Keyword stuffing, hidden text, misleading titles, irrelevant tags, cloaking, or other search manipulation;
- Fake testimonials, fabricated reviews, undisclosed paid endorsements, or rating manipulation;
- Counterfeit goods, impersonation, infringement, unauthorized branding, or copied content; and
- Promotions unrelated to the listed business or selected category.
Firearms Directory may reject content that, in its reasonable judgment, undermines safety, trust, directory quality, or the platform’s purpose, even if the content is not expressly listed above.
8. Photographs, Videos, Logos, and Intellectual Property
Listing owners may submit only content they own or have permission to use. Submitted material must not violate copyright, trademark, publicity, privacy, contractual, or other third-party rights.
Business logo requirements
The image uploaded in the primary business logo field must be the business’s actual logo or official brand mark. It must clearly identify the listed business and must not be used as a general promotional image.
The following may not be used as the primary business logo:
- A business card or a photograph or scan of a business card;
- A storefront, building, classroom, range, vehicle, staff, or instructor photograph;
- A promotional banner, flyer, advertisement, coupon, or event graphic;
- A collage or image displaying multiple photographs, products, courses, or services;
- An image listing services, prices, telephone numbers, website addresses, or other promotional text;
- An instructor résumé, credential sheet, certificate, license, badge, or graphic displaying instructor qualifications; or
- Any image that could mislead users into believing it is the business’s official logo.
Storefront photographs, facility images, course images, service graphics, and credential documents may be submitted only in the appropriate gallery, credential-verification, or supporting-document fields when those features are available. Firearms Directory may crop, reject, remove, or request replacement of any logo that does not meet these requirements.
Images must accurately represent the business, staff, location, course, event, product, or service. Stock images may not be presented as actual photographs when doing so could mislead users.
Listing owners retain ownership of their content but grant Firearms Directory a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, format, resize, crop, display, distribute, and promote it in connection with the directory and its services while it remains submitted, subject to reasonable archival and backup retention.
9. Reviews and Business Responses
Reviews must reflect genuine first-hand experiences. They may not be fabricated or submitted in exchange for undisclosed payments, gifts, discounts, services, or incentives.
Businesses may request honest reviews but may not require favorable reviews, solicit only satisfied customers, review themselves, use employees or agents to submit misleading reviews, pressure customers to change reviews, or retaliate against reviewers.
Responses must remain professional and may not disclose confidential customer information, permit information, training records, payment information, or other personal details.
Firearms Directory may remove reviews or responses that are fake, irrelevant, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, privacy-invasive, promotional, copied, submitted in bulk, affected by undisclosed conflicts, or otherwise noncompliant. A negative opinion will not be removed merely because a business disagrees with it.
10. Free, Gold, Platinum, and Other Plans
Current plan prices, features, billing intervals, eligibility requirements, and limits are stated on the Firearms Directory Pricing page and at checkout. Those plan-specific terms are incorporated into this Policy.
Unless a specific offer states otherwise:
- Features apply only to the Listing and account for which they were purchased and may not be transferred or resold;
- A Free Listing may be limited to the fields, logo, images, links, badges, and other features described on the Pricing page;
- Upgrading does not exempt a Listing from review or policy compliance;
- Payment does not guarantee approval, verification, ranking, traffic, contacts, leads, bookings, revenue, or customer results;
- Firearms Directory may change plan features prospectively, subject to applicable law and express paid commitments; and
- Noncompliant paid Listings remain subject to correction, restriction, suspension, or removal.
11. Featured Listings and Homepage Placement
Featured placement is advertising, not endorsement. Placement is subject to approval, scheduling, technical requirements, inventory, and continuing policy compliance.
Featured Listings may rotate with other businesses. Firearms Directory does not guarantee a particular position, sequence, display frequency, impression count, click volume, inquiry level, booking, sale, search ranking, or revenue.
Any complimentary featured period included with a Platinum or other plan is subject to the offer terms, availability, approval, and scheduling. Complimentary promotional time has no cash value and may not be transferred.
12. Advertisements and Featured Events
Featured event banners, sponsored placements, display advertisements, and similar promotions may be labeled “Featured,” “Sponsored,” “Promoted,” “Advertisement,” or similar wording.
Advertisers must provide accurate, authorized, and final materials by applicable deadlines. They are responsible for all claims, disclosures, permissions, landing pages, promotions, pricing, contests, and legal compliance.
Advertising may not imitate Firearms Directory editorial content, account alerts, verification badges, government notices, or another business’s Listing. It may not direct users to unrelated, deceptive, unsafe, or unlawful content.
Firearms Directory may reject or request changes to advertising and does not guarantee impressions, clicks, inquiries, attendance, sales, or other results. Material revisions after approval may require additional review, fees, or rescheduling.
Event organizers must promptly update Firearms Directory if an event is canceled, postponed, relocated, sold out, or materially changed.
13. Billing and Renewal
Current prices, billing periods, promotions, renewal terms, and plan-specific conditions are displayed on the Pricing page, Advertise page, order form, or checkout page at purchase.
When automatic renewal is selected or included in the purchased plan:
- The plan renews for the selected monthly or annual period until canceled;
- The listing owner authorizes recurring charges, applicable taxes, and approved add-ons;
- Billing and contact information must be kept current;
- Failed payments may result in reduced features, suspension, or conversion to a Free Listing; and
- Prices may change prospectively after reasonable notice, subject to applicable law.
If a manual-renewal option is selected, paid benefits end at the close of the purchased period unless the plan is renewed. Removing or abandoning a Listing does not itself cancel a paid subscription.
14. Cancellations and Refunds
A recurring plan may be canceled using available account controls or by contacting Firearms Directory support. Cancellation prevents future renewal charges but does not automatically delete the underlying business Listing.
Any advertised 14-day cancellation or refund period, prorated refund, promotional guarantee, or other special right is governed by the exact terms presented when the purchase was made. After an applicable refund period expires, charges for completed periods, published advertising, custom work, or campaigns already started are nonrefundable except as required by law.
Approved refunds or credits are returned through the original payment method when practicable. Chargebacks do not eliminate valid payment obligations and may result in temporary account restriction while reviewed.
If paid content is removed because of a material policy or legal violation, unused amounts may be forfeited to the extent permitted by law.
15. No Guaranteed Ranking, Leads, or Results
Firearms Directory does not guarantee that a Listing will appear in a particular position, appear for every keyword or location, be indexed by an outside search engine, outrank another Listing, receive a specific number of views or contacts, or produce a particular business outcome.
Results may be influenced by relevance, location, category, completeness, verification, subscription level, advertising status, quality, user filters, technical factors, and other considerations. Search, ranking, recommendation, and display systems may change.
16. Moderation and Enforcement
Firearms Directory may, but is not obligated to, review, verify, edit, correct, reclassify, restrict, suspend, unpublish, or remove content. Action may be taken with or without advance notice to enforce platform terms; correct inaccurate, outdated, duplicate, or misleading information; protect users or third parties; investigate fraud, impersonation, infringement, illegality, or safety concerns; respond to legal process; or preserve platform quality and security.
Enforcement may include warnings, document requests, corrections, content removal, badge removal, loss of promotional features, reduced visibility, suspension, permanent removal, account termination, payment restriction, or referral to authorities when required or reasonably warranted.
17. Corrections, Reports, and Appeals
Users and businesses may report inaccurate, duplicate, fraudulent, infringing, unsafe, or unlawful content to support@firearmsdirectory.com. Reports should identify the Listing, explain the concern, and include supporting information when available.
A listing owner may appeal a moderation decision by identifying the business, account, affected Listing, challenged decision, reason for reconsideration, and supporting documents or corrected information.
An appeal does not guarantee restoration. Firearms Directory may require reverification and may reject repeated, abusive, incomplete, fraudulent, or bad-faith appeals.
18. Privacy and Public Information
Information associated with Listings, claims, accounts, verification, billing, reviews, and reports is handled under the Firearms Directory Privacy Policy. Listing owners must have permission to submit personal information concerning employees, instructors, customers, photographers, participants, or other individuals.
Public Listing information may be viewed by the public, indexed by search engines, displayed in search results, and distributed through directory features. Do not place information in a public Listing that should remain private.
Where applicable privacy law provides a right to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing, requests may be submitted using the method stated in the Privacy Policy. Cookie and advertising preferences may depend on browser settings and may need to be renewed after cookies are cleared.
19. Changes, Availability, and No Exclusivity
Firearms Directory may display competing businesses in the same category and location. No Listing or advertising space is exclusive unless a written agreement expressly says otherwise.
The platform or individual features may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, security measures, upgrades, third-party services, technical issues, legal requirements, or events beyond reasonable control. Uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed.
This Policy may be updated to reflect changes in the platform, business practices, technology, safety standards, or law. The revised version will show an updated effective date. Continued use or maintenance of a Listing after the revised Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law.
